Mason County Man Indicted for Attempted Murder, Arson

A Mason County man has been indicted on multiple charges after allegedly threatening his family and setting their home on fire.

Tyler Allen Crump, 34, of Point Pleasant, faces three counts of attempted murder and one count of first-degree arson, according to court records.

West Virginia State Police responded to the incident in early March on Tanglewood Drive, where Crump’s relatives reported he had threatened to kill them and burn down the house. Investigators say a trail of tiki torch fluid was found leading from Crump’s room down the stairs. He allegedly left the home without alerting anyone.

Crump is scheduled to appear in court on May 28 at 9 a.m.
