An Imperial Valley physician who became nationally known during the COVID-19 pandemic for challenging government guidance on the treatment of the disease has won a significant legal victory in federal court protecting his ability to discuss COVID-19 treatment options with his patients. Dr. Brian Tyson is one of three physicians named in a renewed preliminary injunction issued this month by Senior U.S. District Judge William B. Shubb in the case Kory v. Bonta. The order prevents California Attorney General Rob Bonta, the Medical Board of California, the Osteopathic Medical Board and those acting on their behalf from investigating or prosecuting the physicians, or threatening their medical licenses, based on professional opinions they express to their patients concerning COVID-19, COVID-19 vaccines and ivermectin.
