WV Delegate Evan Worrell (R-Cabell) explains the Recharge West Virginia Act, a initiative designed to support small businesses and enhance workforce skills, as well as broader health initiatives that seek to combat chronic diseases in the state.

In addition to economic development, Delegate Worrell, who chairs the House Health Committee, discussed health initiatives aimed at addressing West Virginia’s chronic disease crisis. The state holds the unfortunate title of having the highest rates of type 2 diabetes and heart disease in the nation. Worrell’s proposed Make West Virginia Healthy Again initiative seeks to restructure existing health offices to enhance collaboration across various departments. This initiative aims to promote nutrition education and encourage farm-to-table practices in schools, leveraging local producers to improve food quality.
