FestivALL Charleston has a new home just in time for its flagship five-day arts celebration, kicking off May 28. The organization celebrated its new headquarters Tuesday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony alongside the Charleston Area Alliance.
Now operating from the upstairs offices at the Charleston Area Alliance on Smith Street, FestivALL is the latest tenant in the Alliance’s Business Hub & Incubator program.
FestivALL Marketing and Productions Coordinator Kate Daugherty said having a permanent office is a major step forward. “It feels nice to actually have a home,” she said. “They have really made it feel like home.”
Charleston Area Alliance President Mara Boggs praised the program’s track record, saying it has supported over 170 small businesses and created more than 400 jobs. “This is truly a community hub for business,” she said.
FestivALL Board President Clifton Clark called the move “monumental” as the organization enters its 21st year.
The festival, running May 28–June 1, will feature art, music, dance, and theater across Charleston. This year’s lineup includes the Art-for-All Juried Kids Art Exhibition, Capitol Street Art Fair, Children’s Art Fair, and the Charlie West Music Fest.
Organizers say the scaled-back format allows them to focus on FestivALL’s core events as the organization enters a new chapter.
“We’re excited to start fresh,” Daugherty said. “It’s going to be a very exciting season.”
